Who we are
Seller and controller: William Price, a sole trader trading as ShopTrack, based in the United Kingdom.
ShopTrack is the data controller for personal data processed through the ShopTrack service. This means we decide how and why it is used.
What we collect and why
- Account details (name, email, sign-in credentials): to create your account and provide the service — contract.
- Workshop records (machinery, checks, jobs, inspector names): to provide the service — contract.
- Device and usage data (signed-in devices, IP address, browser type, activity logs): to apply plan device limits, keep the service secure and prevent fraud — legitimate interests.
- Support messages: to help you — legitimate interests.
- Marketing emails, only if you opt in — consent.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who host and run the service for us.
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for selling the product, managing subscriptions, payments, tax and invoicing.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep account and workshop data while your account is active and for up to 30 days after it closes, unless the law requires longer. We then delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or move your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. We respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and per-workshop data separation to protect your data.
Cookies and local storage
We use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in and to save demo data on your device. We do not use advertising cookies.
